The corrosion resistance of stainless-steel mainly depends on its alloy composition (chromium, nickel, silicon, aluminum, and so forth.) and internal shape, and the principle role is chromium. Chromium has high chemical balance and may shape a passivation film on the steel surface to isolate the steel from the outside world, defend the metallic plate from oxidation, and increase the corrosion resistance of the metallic plate. After the passivation film is destroyed, the corrosion resistance decreases.
